About me
Dr. Claudio Bravo is a transplant cardiologist who cares for patients with heart failure. As a physician-scientist, he strives to provide high-quality care to his patients while advancing the field.
Bravo's research focuses on discovering new treatments for heart failure uncovering the molecular mechanisms that lead to right ventricular failure (dysfunction of the heart's lower right chamber) and improving treatment of the condition by finding new drug targets (human cells or cell components to which a medication will bind).
Bravo earned his medical degree at the Universidad Católica de la Santísima Concepción in Chile. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Bridgeport Hospital, part of Yale New Haven Health, followed by a fellowship in cardiology at Montefiore Medical Center, an affiliate of Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and a fellowship in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology at New York – Presbyterian Hospital, an affiliate of Columbia University. He also holds a master's degree in epidemiology from the University of Washington.
