Dr. Clifton Watt is a cardiologist who cares for adults with a variety of cardiovascular diseases, including patients with advanced conditions. He also provides preventive cardiac care. He has a particular interest in cardiac imaging technologies, such as echocardiography, cardiac computed tomography, vascular ultrasound and nuclear cardiology.

Watt earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine. He completed a residency in internal medicine at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. He then completed a fellowship in internal medicine at Harbor–UCLA Medical Center and a fellowship in cardiology at the University of California, Davis.

Watt is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology.

In his free time, Watt enjoys going to the gym.

    I'm honestly not thrilled with the patient communication skills from my doctor. I always come away thinking that I should probably find another doctor, but I'm often too lazy to do so. Maybe this year I will. He did seem a little less rude this year than last, which made the visit slightly better. Still awkward though.

    Dr Watt showed very careful and thorough understanding as he asked the questions I had, many of them even before I asked them. He understood my goals and included them in his goals for my treatment.     I AM BLESSED TO HAVE DR. WATT HE'S THOROUGH AND CURRENT AND WITH GOOD MANNER WITH MEI WAS REALLY NERVOUS WHEN I STARTED WITH HIM BECAUSE HE WAS NEW TO ME AND I HAD BEEN WITH MY FORMER CARDIOLOGIST A LONG TIMENOW I SEE HE'S LIGHT YEARS AHEAD OF MY FORMER DR.

    "Friendly" is not a suitable word to describe Dr. Watt. He is a no-nonsense straightforward person, who treats his patient as his equal. He does not fain any interest in the patient's family life, etc. His examination of the patient's body is thorough and his diagnoses on the patient's symptoms as well as his recommendations on life habit, medication, etc. Are all clear. His after-visit-summary and notes are detailed and clear although I needed to consult the dictionary often.

    Dr. Watt seems to really be able to identify the nuances of what's going on in my situation. He also makes sure I know that there can be other interpretations.     When the complete diagnosis is not yet possible, I admire the honesty and humility of a very competent doctor who can admit he doesn't know what causes a symptom and still expresses genuine concern and compassion.     I have told my neighbor whose husband has not been responded to by his current cardiologist office, that Dr. Watt was very responsive and UCSF Cardiology Dept was also very prompt and responsive on all levels including making appts and how the UCSF staff handles my calls.

    Dr. Watt was very attentive to my many concerns and as a result we came up with a plan for the future that involves my trying to go on statins again. I think with other doctors I might not have considered restarting statins owing to my original experience with them and my general anxieties. Therefore, I left the appointment feeling upbeat and also I noticed that my anxiety about my cardio condition had been significantly reduced. Cheers to Dr. Watt

    Dr. Clifton Watt spent plenty of time to get to know my condition. His questions were many and persistent about the details of the symptoms I saw and he checked my breathing, swollen parts of my body, and heart activities thoroughly. He agreed with the prognosis of my earlier doctor and advised me to continue on the same medication. As a patient, I am not a dramatic case but I am assured that I will be supported by his knowledge and sincerity for the remaining years of my life.
