About me

Dr. Dae Hyoun (David) Jeong is a primary care doctor who combines his expertise in sports medicine, geriatric care and portable ultrasound to offer his patients accurate diagnoses and comprehensive care. He is passionate about healthy aging and preventive care for both injury and illness, including helping patients avoid falls by offering exercise counseling with customized regimens as part of his treatment plans. He serves as medical director of UCSF Primary Care at Laurel Village.

Jeong earned his medical degree at Chonnam National University Medical School in South Korea. He completed a residency in family medicine and a fellowship in sports medicine at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. He also completed a fellowship in geriatric medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and one in emergency ultrasound at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center.

Jeong serves as director of the point-of-care ultrasound program in UCSF's family and community medicine residency. He received the New Faculty Scholar Award from the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine and Faculty of the Year Award from the University of Maryland's family and community medicine department. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Jeong earned a diploma in sports medicine from the International Olympic Committee and has been involved in many international professional athletic events. He was venue medical director for the Olympic Sliding Center (sledding track) during the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games and worked as medical officer for the taekwondo games at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games. He serves as chair of the medical and anti-doping committee for World Taekwondo.

In his free time, Jeong enjoys traveling, food tasting, hydroponic indoor gardening and playing the electric guitar.

      Dr. Jeong was, as always, very kind and thorough. He is an amazing primary care physician. The only reason for not recommending him is that I don't want him to get too busy to see me! Actually, I have already told others how remarkable he is.
