Dr. Daniel Kwon is an oncologist who cares for patients with cancers of the genital and urinary organs, including prostate, kidney, bladder and testicular cancers. He provides care in both the clinic and the hospital.

One focus of Kwon's research is improving the process by which providers and patients share decision-making. He is particularly interested in enhancing understanding and decision-making for patients by implementing proven tools – such as audio recordings of consultations that they can listen to later. His research also focuses on improving cancer survivorship.

Kwon earned his medical degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in hematology and oncology at UCSF.

At the end, my attending doctor asked me to talk about life and thoughts about life, which made me very moved, felt cared for, and felt the meaning of my life. Because, for example, my family doctor is the doctor I see the most, but he never asks me questions about my thoughts.
