About me
Dr. Daniel P. Morin is a cardiologist who specializes in electrophysiology (studying the electrical activity that controls the heart's rhythm). He cares for patients with a range of heart rhythm conditions, including those requiring devices, such as pacemakers and defibrillators, and those that benefit from advanced ablation procedures, such as atrial fibrillation and other abnormally fast rhythms. He directs UCSF's cardiac electrophysiology laboratory.
In his research, Morin is interested in a wide variety of heart conditions and treatments. He has investigated predictive factors in sudden cardiac arrest, new applications for cardiac resynchronization therapy (a treatment for heart failure), how the heart's ability to contract changes after an ablation procedure, and how to improve electrical cardioversion (shocking the heart to correct an irregular heartbeat). His research has been published in the New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of the American College of Cardiology, European Heart Journal and Heart Rhythm (the journal of the Heart Rhythm Society).
Morin earned his medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School and his Master of Public Health degree from the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Tufts Medical Center. At New York – Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, he completed a fellowship in cardiovascular disease and a fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology.
In addition to caring for patients, Morin is dedicated to promoting cardiological research. He is deputy editor of Annals of Internal Medicine: Clinical Cases, and was the first online editor of Heart Rhythm, serving for five years. In addition, he is associate editor of several other medical journals and serves on the Heart Rhythm Society's board of trustees.

Dr. Morin was highly knowledgable. He had gone over my charts before seeing me and after reading my notes from the other care providers he just wanted to hear from me and how I was feeling and doing. Dr. Morin focused 100% on me and my health issue. Thank you

This was my first appointment with Dr. Morin, and I couldn't be more pleased! He had obviously read my entire history prior to my visit. He listened attentively, was truly caring, and provided me with not only excellent information, but also a great deal of comfort. A treasure! Also, a nurse named Anna was present. . . She also was very attentive and kind.
