About me

Dr. David Bayne is a urologist who specializes in caring for patients with kidney stones and bladder stones, often using minimally invasive surgical techniques – such as endoscopic, laparoscopic or robotic approaches – to treat these conditions. He also has expertise in caring for patients with ureteral strictures (obstructions caused by narrowing of the tube that carries urine from each kidney to the bladder).

Bayne studies health factors that determine the risk of kidney stone disease in different populations as well as surgical outcomes for these patients. His research is funded by the National Institutes of Health.

Bayne earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. At UCSF, he completed a residency in urology and a fellowship in endoscopic urology. He has a master of public health degree from the University of California, Berkeley.

During medical school, Bayne completed rotations in Mirebalais, Haiti, and Medellín, Colombia. He is fluent in Spanish.

Dr. Bayne is great. He looks back at the records to be sure he understands the situation, asks questions about how I would feel about various solutions, and makes a plan to see how things are going before we make final decisions

All my question were answered. I received a great review of my diagnostic test. Dr Bayne seemed very concerned and thorough concerning my health issues. He came up with a very good follow up and plan of care. I really like how he asked for my input and gave me choices.
