About me
Dr. David Bayne is a urologist who specializes in caring for patients with kidney stones and bladder stones, often using minimally invasive surgical techniques – such as endoscopic, laparoscopic or robotic approaches – to treat these conditions. He also has expertise in caring for patients with ureteral strictures (obstructions caused by narrowing of the tube that carries urine from each kidney to the bladder).
Bayne studies health factors that determine the risk of kidney stone disease in different populations as well as surgical outcomes for these patients. His research is funded by the National Institutes of Health.
Bayne earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. At UCSF, he completed a residency in urology and a fellowship in endoscopic urology. He has a master of public health degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
During medical school, Bayne completed rotations in Mirebalais, Haiti, and Medellín, Colombia. He is fluent in Spanish.

My son has dystharia. Many times people ask me, the mother, to respond to my son's condition. The physician made an effort to ask my son directly about his condition and we both appreciate this effort.
