Felicia C. Lester

Dr. Felicia Lester is an obstetrician and gynecologist who cares for women with a wide variety of gynecologic conditions. Her expertise includes contraception as well as menopausal concerns, and she performs in-office procedures such as colposcopy.

Lester's interests include global women's health and reproductive health, particularly preventable causes of maternal mortality, such as obstetrical hemorrhage (bleeding). Her studies involve access to reproductive health services and family planning.

After completing a master of public health degree at the University of California, Berkeley, Lester earned her medical degree and completed a residency at UCSF. She completed a Harvard University fellowship in family planning and global women's health at Brigham and Women's Hospital.

    Dr Lester listened to me and my concerns. She was fun to talk with and also seemed patient. I appreciated that she didn't rush me through my appointment.

    Dr. Lester was amazing. This was my first in person appointment. She explained so many things to my mom and myself. I didn't feel like she rushed me and I could talk with her about all my questions. Also she was so good when she had to give me injections. Dr. Lester is so good at her job.

    Dr. Lester is wonderful. Attentive, caring, thorough, hard working (maybe too much?) ...... I appreciate the opportunity to work with her on matters regarding my health. I've often thought if I move away from this area that I will simply have to take her with me :)

    Dr. Lester is simply the best. I came in for a procedure that I was nervous about pain and she went through all the options for me and let me choose what was the best plan, but also had backups ready. Technically she is also amazing and the entire procedure was done with zero pain. I cannot recommend her enough!

    I just have to prep better for UCSF appointments! They are a little different because the nurse asks you questions, then the med student comes in later and asks the same questions. By the time you see the doctor, 60 minutes in, I'm kinda tired and disoriented. I really need to bring a written list to remember to ask the doctor all I intended to. Everyone top notch! I just need to remember your system is different from private practices.

    She was compassionate, professional, encouraging and thorough. These qualities are particularly important with endo patients as most have been convinced they don't know or understand their own bodies etc. Dr. Lester has a great spirit.

    Dr Lester gets a five star A+ rating from me. I appreciate her care, her expertise and her overall demeanor so much that I was willing to wait five months to get in to see her. I feel the human interaction, the real concern and in my opinion she is exactly what a doctor is supposed to be: professional, thorough, knowledgeable, understanding, caring, friendly, patient, HUMAN and probably there is not enough space here for me to say all of the other adjectives that describe this wonderful doctor
