Dr. Gary Milechman is a cardiologist who cares for patients at the UCSF Cardiovascular Care and Prevention Center – Golden Gate Practice. He specializes in preventive cardiology, cardiac catheterization and other techniques of interventional cardiology, management of bloodstream lipids (cholesterol), and treatment of arrhythmias, including the implantation and evaluation of pacemakers and cardioverter defibrillators. He believes strongly in educating patients about their cardiovascular and general health to help them comply with medical recommendations and improve their overall health outcomes.

Milechman earned his medical degree at Stony Brook University in New York. He completed his residency and fellowship in cardiology at UCSF. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology.

Milechman enjoys teaching medical students, residents and cardiology fellows. He has received a number of teaching awards during his tenure at UCSF, including Teacher of the Year for the Division of Cardiology in 2015.

    Heather Miyashira and Dr. Milechman are fantastic clinicians. I'm slightly sorry Dr. M is reducing his practice so I must get to know a new cardiologist but am confident all will go well. I am thankful I have had the opportunity to receive care from Dr. M and wish him the best for his future.

    Garry Michelman is one of the best doctors I have ever seen and his office is the best run medical office I have ever seen. UCSF would be wise to send your staff to learn from Gary's office how to improve how your other offices are run.

    There should be an Outstanding rating in your survey regarding Dr. Milechman's care. He is a brilliant cardiologist who listens attentively, discusses/explains issues thoroughly and in detail, is clearly concerned about his patients and, as importantly, is fine man.

    I felt engaged and listened to by my cardio-team. I appreciate that they know that what seems routine and typical for them(since cardiac care is what they do) might be disturbing to me and they took steps to inform and reassure me about my condition and its ongoing status. I felt they realized the impact that my medication was having on my life and did what they could to make that better.
