The care provider's surgical mask was worn below the nose making me uncomfortable. The exam included a digital rectal exam but the exam room had no wipes or tissues for me to clean myself after only paper towels. Very awkard.

Doctor thought that my prior antibiotic treatment resulted in my symptoms subsiding but I said no such thing (prescribed at an urgent care elsewhere). My symptoms didn't change at all after treatment.Doctor Sharlip did not seem to want to listen to my issues or dive into what I've been experiencing. He seemed to imply I am having problems because I'm drinking too much water but maybe I misinterpreted that. For FOUR MONTHS I don't think I've had a single instance where I didn't feel either pain or a very uncomfortable urge to pee and he did not seem to sympathize with that at all.

The doctor was great but I would never recommend UCSF.

I spent the whole 10 minute phone call convincing Dr. Sharlip to listen to me and actually order tests. He eventually did so but it took a lot of effort. I did not feel listened to as throughout the whole call he kept downplaying the severity of my main symptom. And because he spent the whole call downplaying my main symptom he didn't even ask about other symptoms on the phone call which there were and I had to communicate about afterwards by calling in since UCSF Mychart had not registered me as his patient yet. Honestly this was one of the worst doctor appointments I have ever had and I have had a lot in my life.
