Dr. Kavita K. Mishra is a radiation oncologist who specializes in proton beam therapy, a technique that intensely targets tumors while causing less damage to surrounding tissues. She uses it to treat certain cancerous as well as noncancerous eye conditions.
Mishra's research focuses on outcomes for patients with uveal melanoma, particularly with respect to tumor control, preservation of the eye and quality of life issues.
Mishra earned her medical degree from UCSF. Subsequently, she completed a master of public health degree at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She completed a residency in radiation oncology at UCSF, serving as chief resident.
