Neuromodulation advocate and educator
Dr. Lawrence Poree is a pain medicine specialist with expertise in using the latest interventional techniques to control pain with less reliance on oral medications. He is particularly interested in managing pain and restoring function through neuromodulation, technology that delivers electrical stimulation or medication to targeted areas in the body.
Poree earned his master of public health degree at the University of California, Berkeley, where he also earned a doctoral degree in toxicology. He then completed postdoctorate studies in biomedical engineering at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He earned his medical degree from Stanford University School of Medicine, where he completed a residency in anesthesiology. He completed a fellowship in pain management at UCSF.
Poree serves on the boards of the North American Neuromodulation Society, International Neuromodulation Society and California Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.
