About me
Dr. Nisha Hariharan is a hematologist-oncologist who cares for patients with blood disorders (both cancerous and non-cancerous) and a variety of solid tumors, with a focus in breast cancer. She utilizes treatments such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapy tailored to each individual patient. She strives to provide all of her patients with compassionate care and open communication.
Hariharan's research focuses on blood disorders, including both cancerous and noncancerous conditions. She has published her findings in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national hematology conferences.
Hariharan earned her medical degree at the Pennsylvania State University. She completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of California, Davis, followed by a fellowship in hematology and oncology at the University of California, San Diego.
Outside of work, Hariharan enjoys playing the piano and spending time outdoors.

Dr Nisha Hariharan is amazing. She is proactive in my care, very thorough, explains my condition in detail and in terms I easily understand, and offers options in follow-up. I am so happy that I'm her patient. I previously saw a different hematologist at another provider, and am thrilled to have switched and found Dr Hariharan.

Dr was knowledgeable, empathic, did her investigation of my medical record prior to appointment. Gave me the real story with reasons why ie insurance etc . I have been in the UCSF system for many years . I am pleased to be in the care of this provider at UCSF. And hopeful Thank you

The Dr who saw me was excellent. She was extremely thorough, she took the time to hear my concerns and had great insight to how things were going to move forward. She was very reassuring, she cared. It was a great appointment.
