Dr. Roger Mann is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in care for a wide range of foot and ankle conditions, from degenerative diseases to acute and chronic injuries.

Mann earned his medical degree at UCSF, where he also completed a residency in orthopedic surgery. He has been practicing since 1968.

Mann has served as president of the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society. Its award for the outstanding clinical paper presented at its annual meeting is named for him. He is also a member of the American Orthopaedic Association, Western Orthopaedic Association and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He has published more than 120 scientific journal articles and 70 book chapters, and is a co-author of the most widely used orthopedic textbook on foot and ankle surgery, Mann's Surgery of the Foot and Ankle, now in its ninth edition.

    I saw Dr. Mann yesterday. I am waiting for the scheduler to call for surgery. No response yet.

    Dr. Mann was highly recommended to me by a friend who saw him years ago for similar foot pain. I was so disappointed and surprised by the lack of care and curiosity that Dr Mann showed. I even recommended that I stand so I could show more accurately where my pain is and he didn't agree and kept me up on the table. I asked about a treatment that he did years ago which sadly I couldn't remember the name of at the time. He didn't ask any questions to try to jog mine or his memory. Maybe he was more innovative and hands on 20 years ago but who I saw yesterday I would not feel comfortable or confident referring. I left in the same pain with a recommendation to see a physical therapist and no recommendations of who. Awful experience.

    Had to ask for email to contact him stretches to do handout for PT clinics.They should do this automatically! Had to think of what I needed quickly before doctor was out the door Otherwise good

    I didn't get the answer I wanted but I got a very good explanation of why a different treatment was indicated in my case.

    But it would be necessary to give us a written report what is the problem that I as a patient have and what would be the procedure to follow how the health laws of C A in other hospitals do the doctors

    Dr Roger Alan Mann performed my ankle replacement surgery 13 years ago. I have always trusted his manner respect knowledge and experience.

    Care was great at ucsf from start to finish. All providers were great. They did try to figure out the problem I appreciate that maybe physical therapy might be helpful.
