Dr. Rosalyn E. Plotzker is a preventive medicine doctor who cares for patients with an elevated risk of developing anal cancer. She provides cancer screenings via high-resolution anoscopy (examining the anal canal for abnormal cells using a magnifying instrument). She also specializes in the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases and their complications.

Plotzker's research interests include anal cancer prevention, sexually transmitted disease epidemiology (the study of disease factors, such as which populations are at risk) and public health interventions that promote equity in sexual health care.

Plotzker earned her medical degree at the SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University College of Medicine. She completed a residency in preventive medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She completed a fellowship in sexually transmitted diseases at UCSF. She has a master of public health degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

    If you could give an Angel Award to someone hands down it would be Dr. Plotzker. From the moment she introduced herself throughout the appointment during the exam and prior to me exiting she portrayed such compassion knowledge patience professionalism kindness and skill. She provided great education in verbal and written form ensured accurate understanding allowed for questions throughout appointment offered therapy resources for a situation I shared with her and even a hug-which I needed. I knew what to expect throughout my exam and the plan of acre after results are achieved. I was frightened for years to go to this appointment and now I feel well taken care of and confident in continuing my treatment plan. I am thankful that Dr. Plotzker was the doctor assigned to my case. Very grateful!

    I was a bit anxious for the exam (which I usually am) but Dr. Plotzker talked me through everything and then had a conversation to help take my mind off the exam. It worked and she was able finish the exam and had me out of the office quickly.

    Dr. Plotzker is the best medical professional I have encountered. She has excellent bedside manners and she is an skilled medical doctor.     Dr. Plotzker does a fantastic job of destigmatizing anal treatment by discussing it in practical terms. It's basic biology and she makes the treatment an informative and process oriented experience. No reason for shame just care.

    Dr. Plotzker was fantastic. I had communicated about my high anxiety at the start of the appointment and she immediately asked if I wanted to do any grounding exercises. She also spent a fair amount of time drawing out/detailing LSIL and HSIL pathways and the differences between AIN 1 and AIN 2/3. I had a lot of questions and she patiently answered all of them. I honestly felt bad because as a healthcare professional myself I know being in clinic is busy and time-demanding but she was just so fully present and I really appreciated that.

    Dr.Plotzker is so empathetic and extremely caring she explained everything from top to bottom listen to all of my questions and concerns she put me at ease during a really stressful time she remembered me and my story and made me feel cared for. I appreciate her so much she is an outstanding provider she it excellent in preparing patients for procedures and addressing their fears and concerns she explains everything that she did I was pleasantly suprised after my procedure it went very well she gave me all the aftercare info also.

    The providers are amazing the providers are not the problem at all. The biggest issue at this clinic is the availability of appointments and how the lack of availability impacts patient care health outcomes prognostic factors and the inevitable loss to follow up the clinic will experience due to patient fatigue with not being able to get prompt and adequate care.

    Anal Dysplasia is a sensitive practice area to manage. The diseases and treatments can be disconcerting for patients as they were initially for me. Dr. Plotzker excels in diagnoses and treatment which made me confident in the process. Her empathetic and educational approach helped assuage the anxiousness that comes with discussions around anal/rectal concerns. Dr. Plotzker's ability to balance the clinical with the personal is beyond exemplary.
