About me
Dr. Edward Maldonado Jr. is a medical oncologist who specializes in caring for adults with genitourinary cancers, including prostate, bladder, kidney and testicular cancers, through partnership and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Maldonado's research focuses on participating in clinical trials to evaluate promising treatments for patients with genitourinary cancers, with particular interests in advanced prostate cancer and DNA damage repair therapies. He has also participated in quality improvement projects related to fertility preservation and medical education.
After earning his medical degree at the Creighton University School of Medicine, Maldonado completed a residency in internal medicine at the Oregon Health & Science University, where he served as chief resident. He then completed a fellowship in hematology and oncology at UCSF and served as a chief fellow.
Outside work, Maldonado enjoys live music with family and friends, traveling and exploring new cultures and cuisine — an avid foodie, he enjoys exploring all the culinary options the Bay Area has to offer.
