Dr. Holt is an outstanding and caring clinician. She is the first physician who has ever used my academic title of "doctor" to address me (I have a PhD and I am a professor in the School of Nursing at UCSF). If I knew nothing else about Dr. Holt, the fact that she extended me this courtesy when no other physician I have ever met has done so, spoke volumes to me. I'm not hung up on titles, but I do appreciate the message she was trying to convey: that she respected my knowledge and was treating me as a fellow clinician (I'm a primary care NP). She was friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. I had asked around to come of my colleagues if they had heard of Dr. Holt, but because she only joined UCSF Health recently, nobody had hear of her yet. All I can say is that UCSF is lucky to have a physician and scientist of her caliber, and I feel in excellent hands in her care. She has been helping me coordinate surgery to remove half of my thyroid due to a multinodular goiter and has provided me with the absolute best, evidence-based information. I will recommend her to my colleagues and to patients who need endocrine care.
