Dr. Eric Johnson cares for patients of all ages and in all walks of life. In addition to special training in preventive medicine, he has expertise in public health, lifestyle medicine and mental health, supporting his ability to provide primary care through a broader lens that incorporates social factors affecting patients' daily lives.

During his training, Johnson worked on many quality improvement projects, including one to assess a Veterans Affairs system's efficiency in routing patients at risk for HIV to a clinic offering pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and HIV treatment. His past projects also included modifying a tuberculosis clinic to better serve patients. He also conducted research at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on food, waterborne, and environmental disease.

Johnson earned his medical degree from Meharry Medical College and his master of public health degree from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University. He completed a residency in family medicine at the University of Maryland and a fellowship in preventive medicine at Emory.
