Eveline Oestreicher Stock, MD

Dr. Eveline Oestreicher Stock is a cardiologist who cares for patients who have heart disease or are at risk of developing it. She has particular interests in preventive and noninvasive cardiology, lipidology (the study of fats in the blood), and genetic underpinnings of endocrine factors related to cardiovascular risk in hypertension and diabetes. She takes a personalized approach to treatment to ensure the best possible health outcomes; this includes taking a deep dive in the evaluation of her patients' cardiovascular risks, and counseling them on beneficial lifestyle changes.

Her research focuses on the mechanisms involved in the development and progression of atherosclerosis (the accumulation of fat on artery walls), prevention of atherosclerosis, heart disease and stroke.

She earned her medical degree from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, where she also completed a residency in internal medicine, serving as chief resident, and a fellowship in endocrinology and metabolism. She later completed a residency in internal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital and a fellowship in endocrine hypertension at Brigham and Women's Hospital. She continued her training at UCSF, completing fellowships in cardiology and preventive cardiology.

She serves as co-chair of the Right Care Initiative of Bay Area Silicon Valley University of Best Practices, a collaborative plan to implement scientifically proven strategies for eliminating preventable heart attacks and strokes.
