Dr. George W. Pasvankas is a pain medicine physician and anesthesiologist who cares for patients with chronic pain, including cancer pain, neck and low back pain, neuropathic pain syndromes and complex regional pain syndrome. He also cares for patients undergoing anesthesia for surgery, including preoperative assessment and management, intraoperative anesthetic management, and postoperative management and recovery.

Pasvankas earned his medical degree at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, followed by a residency in anesthesiology at Massachusetts General Hospital and a fellowship in pain medicine at UCSF.

Pasvankas serves as director for the UCSF fellowship program in pain medicine. He is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists and California Society of Anesthesiologists.

    My provider asked me to make a follow-up appt at which he can take time to fully explain my current situation and possible further treatments. During my recent visit he was concentrating on the work at hand.

    I don't know what I would do without Dr. Pasvankas and his rotation of young Doctors who are wanting to be educated and become experts at helping to relieve/reduce pain in patients like myself who's lives depend on them for their knowledge, expertise and compassion

    Dr Pasvankas and his team were able to meet me where I was with my pain once again but added a new treatment that appears more effective as the epidermic needle directly targetted the main pain points. He and his Fellow offered a neuro pain management later that was cool. It showed collaboration which I love that part I see at UCSF. I went in with pain between a rating level of 8 to 9 and came out with a rating of 1 to 2 and today I am not feeling any nerve pain. THANKS Dr.

    The resident and Dr. Pasvankas were very clear and thorough in communicating. They involved me in decisions about my care in light of the other procedures I might have for other problems I am experiencing. They involved me deeply in decision making about the procedure.

    I have a strange condition. Docs wanted to be helpful. But I have to start over with injections which do no good before I can move to some other treatment.
