Iva Petrovchich Colón is a nurse practitioner who cares for patients with cancers of the genital or urinary organs, including kidney, bladder, testicular and prostate cancer. She is passionate about using a shared decision-making process with her patients to help them choose the treatments that best fit their needs.

In research, Colón helps evaluate new treatments for several kinds of cancer.

Colón earned her master's degree in nursing from UCSF, which included completing a year of residency in breast medical oncology. She then completed an advanced practice provider fellowship in cancer care at Stanford Medicine. Prior to joining the staff at UCSF, she cared for patients with breast cancer at Stanford Health Care.

Outside of work, Colón enjoys spending time with her husband, dog and cats. She likes to ski, hike, kayak and bake.
