Jennifer Rosenbluth, MD, PhD

Dr. Jennifer Rosenbluth is a medical oncologist who cares for patients with breast cancer. She holds the Sulochana Pradhan, MD, Endowed Professorship in Breast Cancer at UCSF.

A physician-scientist, Rosenbluth's research focuses on developing breast cancer lab models that can be used to generate new prevention and treatment strategies. Specifically, she grows tumor tissue in the lab to identify previously unknown vulnerabilities in tumors and develop ways to eradicate all tumor cells. She and her team also study breast tissue at high risk of becoming cancerous to learn how to stop the process from happening, partnering with large clinical trials at UCSF that are evaluating promising treatments for breast cancer and precancerous growths, such as ductal carcinoma in situ.

Rosenbluth earned her medical degree and doctorate in biochemistry at Vanderbilt University. She completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in medical oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. She also completed a postdoctoral fellowship in mammary biology at Harvard Medical School, where she developed laboratory methods for modeling different types of breast cancer.
