About me
Dr. John I. Umekubo is a specialist in internal medicine who provides primary care. He is particularly interested in offering the latest treatments and improving outcomes for patients with chronic conditions, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, arthritis and Alzheimer's disease. He enjoys helping his patients achieve and maintain healthy lives.
Umekubo earned his medical degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine. At St. Mary's Medical Center (now UCSF Health St. Mary's Hospital), he completed a residency in internal medicine.
Outside of work, Umekubo enjoys performing and listening to music, playing golf, drinking wine, learning about classic European automobiles, and spending time in nature.

Dr Umekubo is a rare internist who genuinely cares about my well being. I never feel rushed or that he is under pressure to move me through asap. It is why I continue to have him as my GP even though I no longer live in San Francisco.

All communications were clear and understandable. Making my visit relaxing. My blood pressure always goes down during my visit.
