About me
Dr. June S. Peng is a surgical oncologist who cares for patients with abdominal cancers, including cancers of the pancreas, liver, bile ducts, gallbladder, stomach and bowel. She is interested in expanding the use of laparoscopic and robotic techniques for complex resections (removal of a diseased or damaged part of an organ). Drawing on the expertise of her fellow specialists on UCSF's gastrointestinal oncology team, she is pleased to provide her patients with high-quality care close to home.
Peng's research focuses on addressing treatment questions that arise in cancer care. She uses local and national databases to evaluate treatment practices and optimize outcomes through frameworks called care pathways.
Peng earned her medical degree at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She completed a residency in general surgery at the Cleveland Clinic and a fellowship in complex general surgical oncology at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.
