About me

Andrea Garber is a dietitian who serves as chief nutritionist for the UCSF Eating Disorders Program, which provides care for individuals and families.

Funded by the National Institutes of Health, Garber's research program also focuses on eating disorders. Her current endeavors include a clinical trial examining nutritional rehabilitation for patients with anorexia nervosa and a study of three-dimensional body composition analysis in youths with malnutrition.

Garber earned her doctorate in clinical nutrition at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. She completed her training with a dietetic internship at UCSF as part of becoming a registered dietitian.
