About me
Dr. Lauren Bach Phinney is an internal medicine specialist who focuses on preventing, diagnosing and treating adults at elevated risk for chronic conditions. She is particularly interested in working with Spanish-speaking patients as well as coordinating care for people with complex conditions. She takes a holistic approach, striving to understand each person's physical, emotional and spiritual needs when addressing medical concerns.
Phinney's research centers on improving the educational experience of medical students and residents. Specifically, her studies look at feedback from medical learners, primary care education and physician well-being.
At UCSF, Phinney earned her medical degree and completed a residency in internal medicine, serving a year as chief resident.
Phinney was born and raised in Northern California. Outside of work, she is a certified yoga instructor and avid social dancer.
