About me
Dr. Maria Wamsley is an internal medicine specialist who provides primary care for adults.
Wamsley's research interests include the best methods of teaching medical students and residents how to work in teams with other health care professionals. She is also interested in the benefits that students, patients and teachers receive from longitudinal relationships, or those that last many years.
Wamsley received her medical degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She then completed a residency in internal medicine at UCSF.
Wamsley is a member of the Society of General Internal Medicine. She is a member of the UCSF Haile T. Debas Academy of Medical Educators. She speaks Spanish.

Dr. Wamsley took into consideration all the concerns I had with taking statins and did further analysis of a CT scan and shared some recent research that in taking all this information together, I was at much lower risk for cardiac events than the average person for whom the "risk calculation" was designed. I very much appreciated the time she invested in helping to classify my personal situation.
