Mariela Shaiken-Tran is a nurse practitioner who cares for adult patients in need of blood and bone marrow transplants. She also cares for patients with cancers affecting the blood and bone marrow, including leukemia, lymphoma and multiple myeloma.

Shaiken-Tran earned her master's degree in nursing from the University of California, Los Angeles. She then completed UCSF's post-master's program to become a family nurse practitioner. She worked at the UCSF Carol Franc Buck Breast Care Center before moving to hematology and oncology.

Born in Chile and raised in Berkeley, Shaiken-Tran speaks Spanish fluently. She enjoys spending time with her family and two dogs.
