About me

Dr. Matthew C. Breeggemann is a nephrologist who cares for patients with kidney disease. He is medical director of UCSF's Kidney Stone Prevention Clinic, where he treats patients with a variety of kidney stone disorders in collaboration with the department of urology. He also cares for patients with acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, electrolyte disorders, and high blood pressure.

Breeggemann earned his medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, where he also served an additional year as chief medical resident. He completed a fellowship in nephrology at UCSF.

      Dr. Breeggemann is always very methodical in his diagnosis, treatments and follow-ups of my blood pressure and kidney stone situation. Discussions with him on my condition, my progress, and treatment options available are always productive and very helpful, his answers and explanations are always clear, informative and helpful. He's an excellent doctor and I feel extremely fortunate to be his patient.
