About me

Dr. Matthew Mansh is a dermatologist who cares for patients with a wide range of skin conditions, including complex disorders. His goal is to provide high-quality, individualized care based on the latest research. He serves as director of the UCSF High-Risk Skin Cancer Clinic, which provides screening, prevention and management of nonmelanoma skin cancers for immunosuppressed patients and others at increased risk, including organ transplant recipients. He also directs dermatology within UCSF's gender-affirming services, providing minimally invasive procedures, such as laser hair removal, and management of skin-related side effects from hormone therapy for transgender and other gender-diverse patients.

Mansh conducts research in several areas, including skin cancer prevention; health disparities affecting lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and other sexually diverse or gender-diverse people; and diversity among people training to become doctors.

Mansh earned his medical degree at Stanford University School of Medicine and completed a residency in dermatology at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. He completed a clinical research fellowship in transplant dermatology at UCSF.

Mansh serves on the executive board of the American Academy of Dermatology Expert Resource Group on LGBTQ/Sexual and Gender Minority Health. Before joining the UCSF faculty, he was an assistant professor of dermatology at the University of Minnesota.
