About me

Dr. Meera R. Chappidi is a surgeon who cares for patients with tumors of the genital and urinary organs, including prostate, bladder, kidney and testicular cancers.

In her research, Chappidi focuses on developing and validating new biomarkers (distinctive, measurable substances used to identify disease) for urological cancers, with the goal of better understanding individual risk and personalizing treatments for patients, particularly those with prostate or bladder cancer. In addition to presenting her work at national and international conferences, she has received many honors for her research, including a Urology Care Foundation Residency Research Award, Conquer Cancer Young Investigator Award from the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), Urology Care Foundation Research Scholar Award, and Young Investigator Award from the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network.

Chappidi earned her medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She completed a residency in urology at UCSF and a fellowship in urological oncology at the University of Washington. She also has a master of public health degree from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
