Dr. Michael P. Randall is a medical oncologist who cares for patients with blood cancers, such as Hodgkin's and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma as well as chronic lymphocytic leukemia. He is experienced in using immune-based therapies to treat lymphoma that returns or doesn't respond to treatment, including stem cell transplantation and immune effector cell therapies (reprogramming immune cells to better attack tumor cells) such as CAR T-cell therapy. He has a particular interest in lymphomas affecting the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord), which can be challenging to treat and require different treatment strategies than that of lymphomas affecting the rest of the body.

In research, Randall is involved in several clinical trials testing new therapies for lymphoma, with a particular focus on forms of the disease affecting the central nervous system. He is especially interested in correlative science, which involves discovering new biomarkers to diagnose and monitor diseases like lymphoma. He also collaborates with scientists in the lab to understand why certain treatments work for some patients and not others. During his medical training, he developed the first clinical trial using circulating tumor DNA to inform therapy in relapsed Hodgkin's lymphoma.

Randall earned his medical degree at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital and a fellowship in medical oncology at UCSF.
