About me
Dr. Mimi Ogawa is a family medicine doctor who cares for patients of all ages. She has particular interests in preventive medicine and managing substance use disorders. After earning a bachelor's degree in psychology and sociology at the University of California, Berkeley, Ogawa completed the postbaccalaureate premedical program at Bennington College. She earned her medical degree at the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont and completed a residency in family medicine at the University of Vermont Medical Center. Before joining UCSF, she worked for a community clinic in the East Bay that served all patients, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.
Ogawa is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and American Board of Family Medicine. She received an Albert Schweitzer Fellowship, in which medical professionals complete a project involving sustainable community-based health care as well as embrace a lifelong commitment to serving vulnerable populations. She also received a grant from the Steven M. Thompson Physician Corps Loan Repayment Program, which provides education debt relief in order to increase the number of doctors providing care in underserved parts of California.
A San Francisco native, Ogawa is pleased to be able to care for people where she grew up. Outside of work, she enjoys practicing martial arts, caring for her indoor plants and keeping her senior citizen cat happy.

Dr Ogawa is the best primary care doctor I have ever had. She listens carefully to everything I say and asks me questions to clarify and understand my problem. She is empathetic and helpful. I appreciate her Sincerity. I would recommend her to my family and friends.
