About me
Dr. Minh Huynh is a family medicine specialist who provides primary care for adults. He has special interests in weight loss and lifestyle medicine; diabetes management; musculoskeletal pain treatments, including knee and shoulder injections; and medications that prevent HIV, including pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP).
Huynh earned his medical degree at Ross University School of Medicine in Barbados.
Outside of work, Huynh is a foodie and enjoys all ethnic cuisines. He loves getting Bay Area restaurant recommendations from his patients. He is also fascinated by languages: He studied French and Spanish in college and is now learning Japanese.

This was my initial appointment with Dr. Huynh and I am so happy he was assigned by UCSF as my primary physician. Dr. Huynh listens and is caring. He is willing to explain anything in layman's terms. He's inquisitive and organized. I like that he lets you know how much time he has - I see someone complained about that, but it is important to know as physicians have a lot of patients to see. I also liked that he asked me to slow done the barrage of questions I had In order to answer them all and get the information into the system as this was our first appointment. I would prefer a doctor who is direct so that I don't waste time if it will be limited and my records will be clear. I was so pleased with my first appointment that I recommended Dr. Huynh to my daughter and son in law, who are looking to secure a relationship with a primary care physician. Dr. Huynh Is new to UCSF and so still taking in new patients but that will not last. He is going to be in demand. A great hire for UCSF.
