Mitchell D. Feldman, MD, MA

Dr. Mitchell D. Feldman is a general internal medicine physician who is committed to providing primary care with a focus on health promotion and prevention. He serves as chief of the UCSF Division of General Internal Medicine and the associate vice provost for UCSF Faculty Mentoring Program.

Feldman's research interests include mentoring in academic medicine as well as how institutions and providers may create or reduce barriers to high-quality depression treatment in primary care. His past research has focused on the influence of patient prompts (things patients say or ask) on physician behavior.

After attending Johns Hopkins University for his undergraduate degree, Feldman earned his master of philosophy degree in medical anthropology from the University of Cambridge. He then obtained his medical degree at UCSF, where he also completed a residency in internal medicine.
