Dr. Neeru Kaushik is a pediatric cardiologist. Because she recognizes that a child's heart disease diagnosis can be isolating, her goal is to ensure patients and families know they are not alone and have a team supporting them. In her daily practice, she enjoys educating patients and families by discussing their diagnosis and unique needs, and she believes the best care comes from collaborating as a team to make decisions. She enjoys her varied roles as doctor, educator, advocate, coach, teammate and cheerleader.

Kaushik's research interests include noninvasive imaging techniques, including fetal echocardiogram (ultrasound to examine the fetus's heart) and transesophageal echocardiogram (heart ultrasound in which the probe is passed into the esophagus for a clearer view).

Kaushik earned her medical degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She completed a residency in pediatrics at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland, followed by a fellowship in pediatric cardiology at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, where she served as chief fellow. She then completed an advanced fellowship in noninvasive pediatric cardiac imaging at Boston Children's Hospital, where she was senior fellow. She is a member of the American Society of Echocardiography.
