About me
Nhat M. Bui is an adult-gerontology nurse practitioner who cares for older adults with neurodegenerative diseases, conditions in which nerve cells are progressively lost from certain areas of the brain. As an active member of the behavioral management task force of the UCSF Memory and Aging Center, she helps lead projects to improve the understanding of dementia-related behavioral symptoms, to optimize care for patients and to support caregivers.
Bui has participated in research that examined eligibility for palliative care among residents of nursing homes, along with the impact of nursing home staff's attitudes toward death and dying. She also studies innovations in telemedicine and other technologies that could be used to improve access to health care for vulnerable populations, including nursing home residents.
Bui earned a master's degree in nursing, with an emphasis on adult gerontology, at the UCSF School of Nursing.
