Dr. Nickisa M. Hodgson is an oculoplastic surgeon who specializes in reconstructive surgery of the eyelid, eye socket and tear drainage system. Her expertise also includes cosmetic surgery of the eyelids and face, as well as nonsurgical facial rejuvenation. She is passionate about listening carefully to patients, addressing their specific concerns and providing personalized treatment plans.

In research, Hodgson is interested in health disparities related to orbital disease, ophthalmologic medical education, and artificial intelligence. She has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in prominent journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA Ophthalmology, Orbit, and Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. A frequent lecturer on oculoplastic surgery, she is active in medical education and has received awards for her teaching.

Hodgson earned her medical degree and completed a residency in ophthalmology at the University of California, San Diego. She completed a fellowship in oculofacial plastic surgery at Johns Hopkins University. She also has a master of advanced studies degree in clinical research from UC San Diego.

When she's not caring for patients, Hodgson enjoys swimming, hiking, art, and spending time with her family.
