Dr. Patricia Cornett is a hematologist who cares for patients with classical (noncancerous) disorders affecting the blood.

Cornett earned her medical degree at Drexel University College of Medicine. She completed a residency in internal medicine as well as a fellowship in hematology and oncology at the Letterman Army Medical Center.

Cornett belongs to the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology and Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine. She is the associate chair for education in the UCSF Department of Medicine. She also plays a leadership role in the school's innovative Bridges Curriculum, which seeks to prepare medical students to flourish in the rapidly evolving world of medicine.

    It took Dr. Cornett a while to understand my specific concern, which was not about the wisdom of the iron infusion, but the strange metric used to measure its efficacy and what its meaning might be. I gained some understanding but the real resolution was agreeing to a somewhat early retesting (with an added component of fat measurement).

    Dr Cornett is the best. She is completely engaged with the patient (me) and she makes me feel confident with her suggestions. And she explains my issues clearly and does not mind repeating the explanations. Excellent.

    Dr Cornett gave up her non clinical day to see me. Don't find many doctors these days that would do that. She is so caring

    I liked Dr. Cornett very much. She knew my complicated chart and asked a lot of questions. She listened attentively and explained her concerns and recommendations. I found it hard to follow her comments at times but I am not as alert as I used to be.

    Dr. Patricia Cornett was very good in articulation of her understanding of my medical condition and what her role may be in furtherance of my treatment. She explained the treatment and why she thinks it may be effective for me. She was kind, supportive and listened to my concerns and answered my questions. I was impressed with her experience and knowledge about my situation. She actually was thoroughly familiar with my MY CHART.

    My appointment was outstanding with Dr Cornett. After years of not being heard or concerns being addressed by my previous hematologist, I finally was heard. I had more discussion and thoughts in this one appoints then all my other appointments I've had over the last 7+ years combined. Thank you!

    S she told me right up front that this medication was going to raise my blood sugar before I ever took it. I just really like being informed like that in advance and I just felt really comfortable about the whole thing.
