About me
Dr. Prerna Gupta is a noninvasive cardiologist with special interests in heart disease prevention and rehabilitation, as well as echocardiography (heart ultrasound).
In her research, Gupta studies causes of heart disease, its impacts and prevention methods. She has investigated using mobile health to improve delivery of cardiovascular care and patient outcomes, including how this approach can increase adherence to medication and rehabilitation regimens. She has also examined seasonal cycles of exacerbated heart failure, differences in heart failure between men and women, and using wearables in critical care settings to analyze patients' circadian rhythms and monitor their activity.
Gupta earned her medical degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles, where she also completed a residency in internal medicine. She completed a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the University of Colorado.
