Dr. Robert Weber is an endocrine specialist who cares for patients with a broad range of metabolic and hormonal conditions. He has a particular interest in adrenal gland disorders, particularly abnormalities in aldosterone (a hormone that stabilizes blood pressure).
In his research, Weber has focused on hyperaldosteronism (when the adrenal glands make too much aldosterone) and how aldosterone production and release are affected by kidney signaling (the organ's communication process) and potassium balance.
Weber earned both his medical degree and a doctorate in chemistry and chemical biology through the UCSF Medical Scientist Training Program. He also completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in endocrinology at UCSF, serving as chief fellow.
In addition to caring for patients, Weber teaches medical students and residents in a variety of settings.
