About me
Sarah Ertan is a genetic counselor who cares for adults with cancer and those at risk of developing cancer based on family history, with a particular focus on cancers of the digestive system. She works with patients and families to help them understand their cancer risk, advantages and disadvantages of genetic testing, monitoring recommendations, options for risk-reduction surgeries and other prevention strategies. Her goal is to provide patients and their families with the information they need to make their own best decisions.
Ertan earned her master's degree in genetic counseling at Stanford University. She is passionate about mentoring genetic counseling and medical students at UCSF.
Outside of work, Ertan can be found enjoying the beautiful landscapes of California, attempting new art projects, or enjoying time with family and friends.
