About me
Dr. Sharon Chung, a rheumatologist, is director of the UCSF Vasculitis Clinic. She specializes in autoimmune diseases, particularly systemic vasculitides, a group of rare autoimmune disorders that affect multiple organ systems and involve blood vessel inflammation.
In her research, Chung studies genetic factors associated with the development and progression of vasculitis and other autoimmune diseases.
Chung earned her medical degree from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and completed a residency in internal medicine at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. She completed a fellowship in rheumatology and earned a master of advanced study degree in clinical research at UCSF.
Before coming to work at UCSF, Chung gained expertise caring for patients at the Center for Vasculitis Care and Research at Cleveland Clinic.
Chung received the American College of Rheumatology’s Distinguished Fellow Award in 2007.
