About me
Dr. Siegrid Yu is a dermatologic surgeon who specializes in Mohs micrographic surgery (a precise technique for removing skin cancer while sparing healthy tissue) and surgical reconstruction for skin cancer. She also has expertise in laser surgery; rejuvenation of aging skin, including use of Botox injections and soft tissue fillers, and treatments for visible leg veins; and cosmetic treatment of Asian skin.
In her research, Yu investigates Merkel cell carcinoma and other skin cancers as well as skin cancer in immunosuppressed patients. Her research honors include the Clinical Career Development Award in Dermatologic Surgery from the Dermatology Foundation.
Yu earned her medical degree at the University of Washington. She completed a residency in internal medicine at Stanford Medicine, where she served as chief resident. She completed a residency in dermatology at UCSF, where she also was chief resident, and a fellowship in Mohs surgery and procedural dermatology at UCSF.
Yu is a member of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS) and has received an ASDS Cutting Edge Research Grant. She also is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American College of Mohs Surgery and American Medical Association. She serves as director of UCSF’s fellowship program in procedural dermatology.

I was referred to UCSF dermatology by my doctor and I'm glad this happened since I consider the care provided by UCSF as exceptional comparatively. Dr Yu and her staff were very kind, communicative and showed true professionalism during my visit. Everything about my treatment was clearly explained by residents in training and Dr Yu.
