About me
Dr. Sophie Patzek serves as the Director of Endocrinology at UCSF Stanyan and Hyde Hospitals. She cares for patients with a wide range of metabolic and hormonal conditions including diabetes, thyroid disorders and osteoporosis. She specializes in supporting women with endocrine conditions before, during and after pregnancy.
In research, Patzek is interested in optimizing insulin management in complicated and high-risk settings, such as during pregnancy and hospitalization.
Patzek earned her medical degree from UT Health San Antonio. She completed her residency in internal medicine at UC San Diego, followed by a fellowship in endocrinology at UCSF.
In addition to caring for patients, Patzek teaches fellows, residents and medical students. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, biking and spending time outdoors with her husband and two kids.
