About me

Tamika Jackson is a nurse practitioner who cares for patients with conditions that require gastrointestinal surgery, including abdominal, weight-loss and upper digestive tract procedures. Providing pre- and postsurgical care, she educates her patients and their family members and collaborates with her colleagues to ensure the best possible outcomes. She also manages surgical wounds, ostomies (surgically created abdominal openings that allow waste to exit the body), feeding tubes, and complex wounds that require negative pressure wound therapy (an advanced technique to promote healing), and she provides removal of surgical drains, sutures and staples.

Jackson earned her doctor of nursing practice degree at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
