Dr. Tiffany C. Scharschmidt is a dermatologist who cares for adults with a range of dermatological conditions. She also helps to oversee the multidisciplinary care of patients with complex skin disease.

Scharschmidt's research focuses on understanding how healthy skin bacteria communicate with the immune system. Her UCSF research laboratory, which receives funding from the National Institutes of Health, studies the role of our microbiome in skin health and disease, with a particular focus on early life.

After earning a bachelor's degree at Princeton University, Scharschmidt earned her medical degree at UCSF, where she also completed a residency in dermatology.

    I will recommend Dr. Scharschmidt going forward and I asked her if it would be okay for me to see her on an as-needed basis especially given that Dr. Resneck might not be as available, etc. She was very nice and indicated this would be fine and would happy to see me. Again - very much appreciated. Professional, attentive and respectful. Also very friendly and down-to-earth. :)

    I think there must have been a burden of patients for the doctor. She has always been attentive. This time she seemed rushed. It is perhaps true that my concerns for developments on my skin were the result of too much worry.
