About me
Dr. Vanja Douglas is a neurohospitalist, a specialist in caring for hospitalized patients with neurological diseases. His expertise includes stroke, Guillain-Barre syndrome, multiple sclerosis, seizures, meningitis and delirium, as well as less common conditions such as acute transverse myelitis (inflammation in the spinal cord), refractory status epilepticus (continuous seizures that don't respond to treatment), infectious encephalitis and autoimmune encephalitis.
Douglas earned his medical degree from UCSF, where he then completed a residency in neurology, serving as chief resident. He also completed a neurohospitalist fellowship at UCSF. He has been a faculty member in UCSF's neurohospitalist program since 2009.
