Health Equity at UCSF Health

Equity is essential to good health care. Simply put, health equity means everyone has the opportunity to live their healthiest life, regardless of such factors as ethnicity, socioeconomic status, health insurance status, literacy level, gender identity or disability. Over the years, research has linked these kinds of factors to disparities in both health care and health outcomes.

Diversity is at the heart of our mission

Our mission and values provide a unifying framework for everyone who's a part of UCSF Health. One of these core tenets is understanding and embracing the diverse beliefs, needs and expectations of our patients, employees and community.
