The UCSF Asian Health Institute focuses on improving health outcomes, eliminating health care disparities and increasing medical access for the Bay Area's Asian American community. We offer specialized care and prevention for liver and heart disease. We also work to boost representation of Asian Americans in clinical trials and research, which helps advance medical science and treatment options. Recognizing the diversity within the Asian community, we provide culturally sensitive care and resources to patients, providers and the public with the aim of serving as a nationally recognized hub for health, education and research.

Bilingual health care
Our care teams include providers who speak Cantonese, Mandarin and Vietnamese. Interpreters for other Asian languages are also available to serve our diverse population.Accessible education
We offer bilingual resources pertaining to various conditions affecting Asian Americans, including cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke and tuberculosis.Community support
To deepen our impact, we host events for the public and medical professionals and have a history of advocacy, including standing against anti-Asian hate crimes during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Asian American Research Center on Health (ARCH) at UCSF has promoted health and health equity since 2011.

Interpreting Services
UCSF offers interpreters in various languages, including American Sign Language (ASL), as well as services for deaf, hard-of-hearing and visually impaired patients.
