At UCSF Health, pregnant people with Medi-Cal insurance can access pregnancy support and services through the Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program (CPSP). There is no cost to join the program.
As a certified CPSP, we offer a range of culturally sensitive services alongside your regular obstetric care.
CPSP services
As part of CPSP, you have access to several services
Education on:
Prenatal nutrition
Emotional health and general wellness
Labor and delivery
Lactation (breastfeeding)
Help with referrals to:
Women, Infants and Children (WIC)
Doulas
Social workers
Home visiting nurses
Dentists
Dietitians
Connections to community resources, such as:
Pregnancy support groups
Food assistance
Transportation assistance
Help navigating concerns about:
Living situations
Finances
Mental and emotional health
How does CPSP work?
We assign a health care navigator to your prenatal team to help you figure out what resources and referrals your family needs.
You meet with your health care navigator in person three times, during each trimester of your pregnancy. To complete the program, you visit with your care navigator once by video after giving birth.
